Colin Macfarquhar (1745? – 2 April 1793) was a Scottish bookseller and printer. He is best known for being one of the "Society of Gentlemen in Scotland", along with with Andrew Bell, who first published the Encyclopædia Britannica.[1] Macfarquhar also contributed heavily to the second and third edition.[2] The dates of his birth and death remain uncertain, even to Britannica itself.[citation needed]
