Road spikes are a device used by law enforcement in an attempt to stop vehicles involved in a car chase. Home made road spikes, cheaply constructed using a steel pipe and common household nails, were banned in Australia in 2003 after being used against a police vehicle. New South Wales Police Minister, John Watkins, stated they would be added to the New South Wales prohibited weapons list [1]. Template:Law-stub
