Some details on different parts of the MakerBot.

Plastruder MK4

Suggested spares

  • It is suggested to print spare Insulator Retainer(s) ahead of it breaking.
  • Heat barrier: It is suggested to have a spare of this; or a plan to change it if it breaks. (Thingiverse has a few alternate versions)

Idler Wheel

The original idler wheel is made from acrylic and (somewhat) prone to cracking.
The dimensions are:
Outer diameter = 41 mm = 1.614in
Inner diameter = 21.9 mm = 0.862in
Thickness = 3.1750 mm = 1/8 in

Insulator Retainer

The original is made from acrylic and prone to breaking (often happens when tightening the screws).
