When to use this template: If you want to ask someone's permission to use their work, you need to ask them to license their work(s) under a free license. See Commons:Licensing for a list of acceptable licenses and Commons:Email templates for a "template" you can ask them to agree to ("Wikipedia only" is not a free license). Forward the relevant email to permissions at wikimedia dot org. Then use this template on the works their permission applies to. </nowiki>
