Medak gun

The Medak Gun is 30mm automatic cannon. It is primarily an army gun used on sarath infantry armoured vehicle. It is based upon the Shipunov 2A42 gun used in the Russian-designed BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle.

The BMP-2 vehicle along with the gun has been manufactured under license by India's Medak Ordnance factory as Sarath since August 1987. The manufacturer have also installed it in small warships using a modified turret as CRN 91 Naval Gun
