Stone Mountain School (known as SMS) is a private therapeutic boarding school for boys aged 11-17, specializing in ADHD and learning differences. Established in 1990 and part of the Aspen Education Group SMS is located in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Stone Mountain School operates under a Special Use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service in the pristine wilderness of the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests.[1] They utilize equine-assisted psychotherapy.[2]
