Described in the text as, "possibly the most expensive of all wood-working machines, but it is also perhaps the most rapid single-bladed saw in the world". The comparison is with its precursors, the reciprocating saw frames. The pulleys are of 6 ft. diameter and the blade runs at 7,000 ft. per minute. It is claimed to cut over 3,700 feet in three hours. |
