Description

The new Yaesu FT-1000D was designed sparing no effort or expense for optimum performance and operability. The FT-1000 is the fruit of over 25,000 man-hours of intensive research and development by Yaesu's top design engineers. Instead of merely offering incremental improvements on existing designs or adding bells and whistles to an old model, the FT-1000 project involves a wholly new approach to the application of the latest digital and RF technologies to today's most demanding needs of the HF bands.

Extensive surface-mount component technology allowed six microprocessors and five Direct Digital Synthesizers to be harmoniously integrated with a simple operator interface into a highly reliable full-featured HF application. The quad conversion (triple for FM) receiver covers 100 kHz to 30 MHz. With MH-1C8 hand mic.

The basic FT-1000 does not have the following options included in the FT-1000D model: BFP1, TCXO1, XF-B, XF-C, XF-D, XF-E.

AA6SQ about Extended transmitter frequency range for FT990 and FT1000

-Remove top and bottom covers.
Remove top screw on each side which holds front panel to chassis.
Pivot front panel down slowly.
CAUTION: if you let it go, it will flop down rapidly and probably tear somethins loose.

Behind the meter will be the CNTL unit.
It has a metal cover about 4 * 8 inches.
Snap the cover off. Look to the top of the unit.
You will see JP-3.
Remove the solder connection on JP-3.

OUT OF BAND TX MOD FT1000

1. REMOVE POWER AND ANT. 2. OPEN CASE LIKE EXPLAINED IN YOUR "OPERATING MANUAL". 3. LOCATE FOUR SCREWS ATTACHING FROUNT PANEL AND REMOVE THE TOP SCREWS. LOOSEN THE BOTTOM SCREWS. 4. TILT FROUNT PANEL FORWARD. 5. ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RADIO, REMOVE THE PLUG FROM POWER SUPPLY TO THE FRONT PANEL. (GRAY AND WHITE WIRES.) 6. LOCATE THE JUMPER POSITION 3 ON CONTROL BOARD. 7. CHANGE THE JUMPER STATUS IN POSITION 3. 8. REASSEMBLE RADIO. 9. RESET CPU (see your OPERATING MANUAL).
