1-Methyl-5-methoxy-diisopropyltryptamine (also known as 1-methyl-5-methoxy-N,N-diisopropyltryptamine, and 1-Me-5-MeO-DiPT) is a tryptamine that is used recreationally as a psychedelic. 1-methyl-5-MeO-DiPT is orally active, and dosages between 20-40 mg are commonly reported. Many users note that the an unpleasant body load that accompanies higher dosages of 5-MeO-DiPT is often absent when taking 1-methyl-5-MeO-DiPT. 1-methyl-5-MeO-DiPT is also taken by insufflation, or sometimes it is smoked or injected. Some users also report sound distortion, also noted with the related drug, DiPT. 1-methyl-5-MeO-DiPT is the 1-methyl homologue of 5-MeO-DiPT with a methyl group on the 1 position - the nitrogen in the tryptamine skeleton.
