Xenographic (pronounced "zen-o-graphic") means across-species. It is often used in reference to transplants (such as the historic xenographic heart transplants that were attempted unsuccessfully), or the more successful cartilage matrix transplants that are studied today. "Xenographic barrier" is mentioned with reference to viruses, such as SARS or HIV which evolve to attack hosts of other species, thus crossing such an evolutionary barrier.
