Bromfenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) marketed in the US as an ophthalmic solution (brand name Xibrom) by Ista for short-term, local use.
It was originally introduced as a prescription capsule (brand name Duract) by Wyeth=-Ayerst, but this form of the drug was withdrawn from the US market and discontinued due to side effects of systemic, long-term administration.
