Career
Eden's practice has centered on "energy healing"[4] and she has shared her ideas on energy medicine throughout the United States.[5] These fields may be considered part of alternative medicine.[6][7]
Eden claims she has the ability to see the body's energies,[8] and can use that ability to accurately determine the causes of physical and psychological problems based on the state of those energies, and to devise treatments.[citation needed]
Eden serves on the faculty of the unaccredited Energy Medicine University.[9] She conceived and trademarked the term "Energy Kinesiology" to describe a process of using muscle testing for detecting and correcting imbalances in the body; in May 2002 she granted unrestricted rights to use the term to the Energy Kinesiology Association.[10] Donna also co-founded the nonprofit Energy Medicine Institute in Ashland, Oregon.[11]
Eden's book Energy Medicine (revised edition) recently won in the self-help category of the US Book News 2008 National Best Books awards, while her book Energy Medicine for Women won in the women's health category.[12] Donna and David also co-authored Six Pillars of Energy Medicine: Clinical Strengths of a Complementary Paradigm, which was published in the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine.[13]
