Kavain is a kavalactone found in the Kava plant.
Pharmacology
Kavain in both enantiomeric forms inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine at the transporter, but not of serotonin. An elevated extracellular norepinephrine level in the brain may account for the enhancement of attention and focus of Kava consumption.
