Macroketone is a synthetic substance based on the fourteen-membered lactone ring found in the bacterial antibiotic migrastatin, which stops cancer cell metastasis in some animal models.[1][2] Macroketone targets an actin cytoskeletal protein known as fascin that is critical to cell adhesion.[2]
