NorthStar Center

NorthStar Center a Young Adult Therapeutic Transition Program, located in Bend, Oregon enrolls young adults ages 17 1/2 - 24 for substance abuse and addiction treatment. The therapeutic basis of the program is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, a type of psychotherapy developed by Marsha M. Linehan and consisting of four parts:

Additional therapies include Transtheoretical/Stages of Change theory, Motivational Interviewing and 12 Step programs AA and NA. Academic offerings include high school completion, college-prep and college-level courses.

NorthStar is owned and operated by Aspen Education Group. NorthStar is mentioned alongside three other Central Oregon schools belonging to Aspen Education.[1] Along with Passages to Recovery another Aspen program, NorthStar was featured on the July 30, 2006, episode of A&E Television Network's documentary series "Intervention" [2]
