Pedram Hamrah

Pedram Hamrah is an ophthalmologist and immunologist. He obtained his M.D. from the University of Cologne, Germany.[1] In 2002, together with Reza Dana and Ying Liu, he was the first to discover the presence of and characterize resident antigen-presenting cells in the central cornea.[2][3][4][5] Hamrah is currently an assistant professor and attending physician at Harvard's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary[1] and an Instructor in the laboratory of Ulrich von Andrian at Harvard's Immune Disease Institute.[6]

Hamrah has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and over 10 reviews and book chapters. According to the Web of Science, Hamrah's works have been cited over 400 times (one of them cited 102, and two others 101 and 86 times respectively) and he has an h-index of 13.[7] He currently serves as Cornea Section Editor of the journal Eye,[8] Assistant Editor of the journal Ocular Immunology and Inflammation,[9] and editorial board member of Graefe's Archives of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology.[10]
