Safe-In-Sound Award

The Safe-In-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Award was created by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA). This award is geared towards companies or organizations that strive for Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention. Starting in 2009, the NHCA and NIOSH will present the Safe-In-Sound Award at the NHCA annual conference. The first awards were presented in Atlanta, Georgia. The second annual awards were presented in Orlando, Florida ^[1]

There are three separate awards in economic sectors: manufacturing, services, and construction. A fourth award is also given for innovation in hearing loss prevention, which is available for any economic sector. The award targets programs that have created new products, training programs, software programs, or other new and effective ideas that aid in the prevention of hearing loss. It recognizes an individual and/or business entity, regardless of sector/NAICS code affiliation.^[1]^[2]
