In medicine, enteritis[clarification needed] refers to inflammation of the small intestine. It is most commonly caused by the ingestion of substances contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms.[1] Symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, dehydration and fever.[1] Inflammation of related organs of the gastrointestinal system are:

stomach
stomach and small intestine
large intestine
large and small intestine
