Pentoxyverine (rINN) or carbetapentane is a cough suppressant. It is sold over-the-counter in the United States, usually in combination with other medications, especially decongestants. It is commonly used for cough associated with illnesses like common cold. Certuss is one such product. It is a combination of guaifenesin and pentoxyverine, and it produced in the Egyptian market under name of cabella syrup in caramel flavor.
