C-8813 is a potent μ-opioid agonist with a distinctive chemical structure which is not closely related to other established families of opioid drugs. The trans isomer was found to be around 591x more potent than morphine in animal studies.[1]

C-883 is claimed to be similarly potent at the δ-opioid receptor.[1]

Considering that C-883 is said to only be thrice the potency of μ-selective fentanyl, it is somewhat strange that bromadol is said to be 10,000 times the potency of morphine.

Clearly the thiophene is uglier****[uglier? this needs to be changed. maybe also use of the word "strange" in the line above too.] but it is suggestive of the possibility that the 10,000 figure quoted by Lednicer should be re-examined.

C-8813 has never been used in humans, but would be expected to produce effects similar to those of other potent opioid agonists, including strong analgesia, sedation, euphoria, constipation, itching and respiratory depression which could be harmful or fatal.
