Enkephalinase

Enkephalinases are enzymes which degrade endogenous enkephalin opioid peptides. They include:[1]
- Aminopeptidase N (APN)
- Neutral endopeptidase (NEP)
- Dipeptidyl peptidase 3 (DPP3)
Enkephalinase inhibitors (EIs) include BL-2401, RB-101, RB-120, RB-3007, D-phenylalanine, racecadotril (acetorphan), thiorphan, ketalorphan, and ubenimex, as well as the endogenous compounds spinorphin and opiorphin.[1] They have analgesic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, and antidiarrheal effects.[1]
