Isoaminile (Peracon) is an antitussive structurally related to methadone. Psychedelic effects have been noted from doses approximately 300 mg and above. The normal therapeutic dose is 40-80 mg of the cyclamate salt not to exceed five doses in a 24-hour period. In addition to central antitussive effects it is also an anticholinergic, exhibiting both antimuscarinic and antinicotinic actions.
