EXP-561 is a drug which acts as a very potent inhibitor of the reuptake serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine.[1][2][3][4] It was developed in the 1960s and was suggested as a potential antidepressant but was never marketed.[4][5][6] EXP-561 is a rigid analogue of amphetamine,[1] but unlike amphetamine, does not act as a releaser of the monoamine neurotransmitters, and instead is a pure reuptake inhibitor more similarly to cocaine.[7]
